Hazelnut

A smooth, nutty classic that instantly upgrades your coffee. Simple, familiar, and one of the easiest ways to recreate that coffeehouse flavor at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon hazelnut extract

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Tiny pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and sugar.

  2. Warm over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is fully dissolved. (Do not boil.)

  3. Remove from heat.

  4. Stir in hazelnut extract, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

  5. Let cool, then pour into a bottle or jar.

  6. Shake before using.

Tips

  • Start light on hazelnut—you can always add more.

  • Vanilla helps round out the flavor—don’t skip it.

  • Give it a shake before each use.

Creamsmiths Notes

This is where things start to feel legit. You’re recreating a coffeehouse staple with just a few ingredients.

Once you’ve got this down, try:

  • Mixing with caramel for a richer, dessert-style flavor

  • Adding a touch more vanilla for a softer, sweeter profile

  • Blending with cinnamon for a warm, nutty spice combo

If cinnamon vanilla was your “first success,” this is your “ok…now I’m actually good at this” moment.
